The Performance and Culture in Cuba study abroad program provides students with a background to Cuban culture and the performing and visual arts. It offers an historical overview and addresses rapidly changing relations currently at play between Cuba and the United States. Guest lectures offer insights from many perspectives about artistic activities and the ways in which the arts are central to life in Cuba.
The study tour is intended for the culturally curious and the adventuresome student. Experiences will highlight the integral nature of the creative artistic community in Havana. The tour enables our group to interact with working artists, directors, designers, choreographers, performers and filmmakers who shape and reflect the complex nature of Cuban life..
