Twelfth Night, Adapted for Young Audiences
Twelfth Night by William ShakespeareAdapted for Young AudiencesAdapted by Christopher MatsosLincoln TheatreFebruary 1 at 7:30PMFebruary 2 at 3:00PM and 7:30PMFebruary 3 at 3:00PM Ohio State Theatre returns to the Lincoln following the success of last year’s Macbeth with this 60-minute adaptation, intended to introduce young audiences to the joys of Shakespeare and his language. Twelfth Night revolves around a brother and sister’s separation, with farcical comedy, gentle sarcasm and irony . . . and a happy ending for the siblings and their lovers. In true Shakespeare style, there are mistaken identities, plots to fool foolish characters, and a couple of pompous characters who get what they deserve. Twelfth Night was written in Shakespeare's mid-career, around 1601 and is considered by most critics to be among his greatest comedies.
