Michael Kaplan is an award-winning media artist and an accomplished filmmaker and photographer and has worked in academia and the private sector for the past 35 years. As a film editor, Kaplan's professional accomplishments range from industrial work for Fortune 500 companies to short fiction and experimental filmmaking and for more than a decade has trained hundreds of editors as a non linear editor demo artist and technician.

Currently, Kaplan is completing a documentary entitled Conjuring the Dove examining the history of jazz, diversity, and the jazz vocal form and one of its most profound artists, Ella Fitzgerald.

In addition, he serves as the faculty advisor for the Mad Royal Film Society, Ohio State University’s student film production group.
