Shakespeare and Autism Wins Women and Philanthropy Grant

Women and Philanthropy Award Ceremony

Shakespeare and Autism, a department program led by Assistant Professor Kevin McClatchy, received a $50,000 award from Women and Philanthropy for a research study led by Director of the Nisonger Center Marc Tassé and Margaret Mehling, who graduated with her PhD in Psychology this May.

The award will support ongoing research using brain imaging and behavioral assessment to evaluate the effectiveness of the drama-based intervention program. The video presentation of the project and the other two finalists can be viewed on YouTube.
