Arts and Humanities Distinguished Professor of Theatre Lesley Ferris was recently interviewed by BBC Persian in connection with her latest theatrical endeavor--Sahar Speaks: Voices of Women from Afghanistan. Palindrome Productions, Ferris's London theatre company, presented three new short plays based on work by Afghan female journalists from the Sahar Speaks program. These brave new works reflect on daily life for women in Afghanistan, including their struggles and triumphs, from dressing as a boy to go to school to forced marriage as a child.
