May 27, 2015

!ke e: /xarra //ke: A New African Folk Tale

!ke e: /xarra //ke: A New African Folk Tale will be performed at the Cincinnati Fringe Festival. Devised and performed by Melonie and Sifiso Mazibuko (MFA 2015), and first performed in the Lab Series in 2013, !ke e: /xarra //ke is a vibrant allegorical tale about the New South Africa. In storytelling, song, sketches, games, and dances, the piece explores the contours of South Africa, seeks for unity in diversity, and interrogates what race means for the Mazibukos as a couple and for South Africa itself.

The piece performs five times between May 27 and June 6. More information at http://www.cincyfringe.com/performance/ke-e-xarra-ke-a-new-african-folk-tale/
