***Cancelled***
Don't miss this special screening of Character, Assistant Professor Vera Brunner-Sung's short documentary that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this year. The film is a portrait of the actor Mark Metcalf, who made his reputation playing aggrieved authority figures, most famously in National Lampoon's Animal House and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Now in his 70s, he takes a critical look back on his life and career in this meditation on power, privilege, and the perils of being a "type".
The screening will be followed by a discussion with Brunner-Sung and Metcalf.
Free and open to Ohio State faculty, staff, and students. Seating is limited.
