As students, teachers, artists, makers, and thinkers of all kinds, we each practice communication around and discussion of complex issues, especially as they occur on our campus and in our communities. It can feel, at times, like we are walking on the edge. This semester, the InterACT company explores barriers and miscommunications and the ways these impact our ability to better serve our communities as future professionals across disciplines. How can we have conversations with people from different backgrounds? How can we engage in civil discourse practices that hold space for many voices? As we consider what it means to live on our learning edge, we also consider how to empower others to also exist on the edge of learning. It can be scary. It can be complicated. We have some big questions--we know that our audiences have some answers and we'd love to hear about them!

InterACT operates as a kind of "theatrical laboratory" that uses improvisational and applied theatre practices to offer audiences a chance to witness realistic scenarios and then dialogue with characters, offering their insights, ideas, and questions to the bigger conversation.
