The Ohio State University Department of Theatre seeks a Teacher/Scholar/Artist who is actively engaged in the history of performance, contemporary theory and practice with an awareness of issues of gender, ethnicity, and diversity. We value a colleague with an interdisciplinary perspective, who is as excited by research and production as scholarship. We seek a Ph.D. with emphasis in theatre history, historiography, or performance studies; extensive publication record; university teaching, and production involvement. We encourage applicants who will diversify our curriculum and our faculty with regard to race, gender, and ethnicity.
Our new colleague will contribute:
In Research/Creative Activity: creating, directing, collaborating, criticizing, commenting, and evaluating productions, works of dramatic literature, and historic periods/themes
In Teaching: course work in own areas of specialization in theatre for M.A., Ph.D. and M.F.A. (Acting and Design) graduate students and B.A. undergraduates
In Service: leadership in undergraduate and graduate programs, curriculum development, advising, and governance within the department, college, university and field at large.
Position: Assistant Professor, Nine-month, tenure track
