Associate Professor Maureen (Mo) Ryan is Head of the Acing/Directing program at Ohio State University. Mo was the Artistic Director of Red Herring Theatre Ensemble from 2001 - 2008 where she has directed plays such as Big Love, Copenhagen, Lonesome West, and Hot n' Throbbing. At OSU she has recently directed Bright Room Called Day, Dead Man Walking, Trojan Women 2.0 and Noises Off. She has expertise in the area of Outreach & Engagement, and has worked with inmates at Ross County Correctional Institution. Under her guidance, the inmates created and performed original work that emphasized the principles of restorative justice and victim's awareness. She currently directs the MFA Acting Outreach & Engagement project. She returned to her home state of Ohio in 1997 after living in Chicago where she was an ensemble member of Famous Door Theatre Company.
