The venue for this project was the Performance Space, Wexner Center for the Arts. Part catwalks, part tension grid, part underhung light pipes - careful negotiation of fixtures is necessary to achieve a successful design. Ten VL5s were chosen to complement the conventional lighting inventory. Nine of them were designated for the Pierrot Luniare acting area, providing backlight variations and steeply-aimed specials on the 12'-0” square area. One fixture was placed offstage of the large window. The final fixture was used to backlight the soloist, located onstage of the performance area. Facade's playing space was more selective, since the two performers did not move, and two VL5s were used for back light accents.
