The Ohio State University Department of Theatre
The unique stage layout of Peer Gynt provided an inspiration to use the moving light fixtures in a non-traditional configuration at Mershon Auditorium. Considering the wedge-shaped playing area downstage and a proscenium theatre space, I chose an array placement upstage left for the VL5s. This layout allowed for a primary focus position constituting a high diagonal back full stage wash. Large lighting towers downstage left and right housed numerous conventional fixtures, scrollers and two VL6 units at the top and bottom of each tower. In addition, two Cyberlights were mounted at the auditorium floor level front-of-house, at the extreme sightlines.
