Mary is the resident lighting designer for the Department of Theatre, and Project Coordinator for many automated lighting projects. In 1995, she established Ohio State’s Moving Lights Laboratory, dedicated to research, training, and production opportunities utilizing moving lights equipment and control consoles. Mary's selected designs involving moving lights technology include: Pangea, Candide, The Trial, Dangerous Corner, Interior Day, The Cherry Orchard, Angels in America (Parts One and Two), Pierrot Lunaire and Facade with the School of Music, Sleep Deprivation Chamber in collaboration with the Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design (ACCAD), and Peer Gynt with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, performed at Mershon Auditorium.
Upcoming projects include A Song for Coretta to be performed at the Lincoln Theatre, and a new devised work - the working title is "The Camouflage Project" - another collaboration with ACCAD.
