In 2004, lighting director, designer and programmer extraordinaire Benny Kirkham visited the theatre department, and presented a one-week intensive master class in moving lighting design and programming. The class was envisioned by Kevin Parsley (BA 1999) and Benny, who worked together at Vari-Lite (Texas) years earlier. Four stations of Whole Hog II consoles, moving light fixtures, and visual compositions were set up on Thurber stage to accommodate small teams in a truly intensive exploration of new lighting technologies.
