Graduate Studies

At The Ohio State University, the emphasis is on all aspects of the theatre - from performance and cutting-edge technology and historical reconstruction. Known for its focus on experimentation and new works, OSU Theatre offers education and conservatory-style training to artists, scholars and teachers. Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST), the department offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs, and its doctoral program is considered to be among the top five in America. Its faculty is active nationally and internationally, and is enriched by a visiting artist community with a diverse and challenging performance series. It reaches out globally too, via an international exchange program with the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, Czech Republic. The Department of Theatre houses the Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee Theatre Research Institute, one of the top three theatre collections in the country.
