Maria Ignatieva’s My Jewish Dreams
was produced in fall 2003, featuring students from Theatre 494 and
Brad Steinmetz’s first design at OSU-Lima. The play toured
area middle schools in February 2004. Maria received an overseas
matching grant from the College of the Arts to support her trip
to Spain, where she presented a paper titled “America as Seen
and Staged by the Russians” at the II Conference on American
Theatre in Malaga. Masha also received a Coca-Cola Critical Difference
for Women grant to support her research on Konstantin Stanislavsky
and female creativity. In spring 2004 Maria taught Theatre 673:
“Politics and Theatre: Russian and Baltic Theatres After WWII”
on the Columbus campus. The class was financially supported by the
Center for Slavic and East European Studies.
