Living in London

Students on the summer program experience living in London for five weeks, absorbing culture and lifestyle as well as theatre.

Students live in college dorms with single rooms along a shared hallway. A cooking facility is provided to cook light meals, although many students tend to enjoy eating out. Laundry facilities exist onsite allowing students to pack light for the five weeks. Both locations used in the 2000 and 2001 programs were convenient to London transport, with nearby shopping and eating establishments.

Students spend much of their time pounding the pavement so good footwear is a must, but the program provides each student with a travel pass for their time on the program. The London Underground is a primary means of transport and students quickly become adjusted to reading London A to Z to discover how to get anywhere within the city!

Summer 2001 found students living at Ramsey Hall, University College London. This central location is minutes from the Warren Street tube stop on the Northern line, walking distance to The British Museum and Liecester Square, and just off Tottenham Court Road - a perfect spot!

Summer 2000 had students living a little further north at Ifor Evans Hall, University College London in Camden Town. A short walk had students connected to the London underground at the Camden stop on the Northern Line and within walking distance of the famous Camden Market which happens every weekend and has great bargins!
