Theatre 100: Introduction to Theatre |
Don't be afraid - you don't have to act!!!
During the second half of the quarter, students will congregate into groups and put together a creative project based on or inspired by one of the plays read over the quarter.
This is a five minute
presentation.
Although this is a theatrical presentation, NO ONE is required to act. The
group project allows students to tak on several different roles.
Be a Stage Manager: The 'God' of the theatrical process - the stage manager organizes the group, runs meetings, and is basically in charge. ***A great job for those who love details - yes, business majors - this means you!
Be a Playwright:
Let the Shakespeare within shine forth! The Playwright develops the script.
***The perfect job for the English major who's dying to be dramatic or the
scientist who wants to control more than lab rats.
Be a Designer:
Sound, Set, Costumes.... Ah yes the spectacle of the moment! Pick the artistic
realm that you want to explore and do it!!! The designers create the world
of the play - from tunes to T-shirts!
***The perfect gig for anyone who wants to set the inner artist
free.
Be an Actor
- I'm ready for my close-up Mr. DeMille... For those who have an inner Brad
Pitt or Meryl Streep - let yourself go!
***Perfect for anyone who can't stand to stay behind the scenes.
