Theatre Locations

Thurber Theatre and Bowen Theatre are located in the Drake Performance and Event Center at 1849 Cannon Drive on the Main Campus of The Ohio State University - near the Football Stadium and across from Lincoln and Morrill Towers. Studio Theatre is located in Mount Hall at 1050 Carmack Road on the West Campus - one block south of Lane Avenue and just west of Kenny Road.

Directions

The Drake Performance and Event Center is easily accessible from both Olentangy River Road and Route 315. Follow the Olentangy River Road one traffic light south of Lane Avenue to John Herrick Drive and turn left onto the bridge over the river. Park in the lot directly at the end of the bridge or turn left to another lot. From Route 315 take the Lane Avenue Exit, turn East to the Olentangy River Road and follow the directions above.

To Mount Hall follow Lane Avenue west to Kenny Road, turn south to Carmack Road (first traffic light) and turn into the West Campus. Also from the Main Campus take Woody Hayes Drive/Woodruff Avenue west to Kenny Road. Cross Kenny Road and follow Carmack Road to parking.

Parking is Easy

By the end of summer 2007, new parking pay machines will be installed in several campus parking lots. These machines will allow patrons who do not have parking permits to purchase parking for a specified time and then park in designated visitor spaces, or in some areas in an “A”, “B”, or “C” space in that parking lot. When attending our weekday performances, plan to arrive after 6 pm to receive a reduced rate of $3. Contact the Box Office (614-292-2295) for additional information.

Thurber Theatre, Roy Bowen Theatre, and the New Works Lab - The closest parking location is the lot directly across the street from Drake Performance and Event Center, but this fills up early and should be avoided after 7:30 p.m. The next best locations are north or south of the towers. Additional parking is available in the lots across the Olentangy River. Use the footbridge over the river to return to the Drake Performance and Event Center.

Mount Hall Studio Theatre - Follow the direction signs to the lot south of Carmack Road and walk back to Mount Hall.

CABS, the OSU bus system, also runs free of charge, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Park in ample West Campus lots just west of Kenny Road on Carmack Road, and take the Campus Loop South bus from the lot directly to the front door of Drake Performance and Event Center. Buses run every 10 minutes until 8 pm, and every 15 minutes thereafter. For information on CABS, call 292-9341 or visit their website.
