"...the fairy godmother of puppet theatre"
THE EVENING NEWS (Scotland)
Take one puppet, two hands and a table top stage with tantalizing trap-doors and secrets and enter a fantastic new re-imagining of this fairy tale classic. With the addition of a "Magic Handbag" that transforms Cinderella into the belle of the ball and Shona Reppe's own engagement with her characters and her audience, this Cinderella fits like a glass slipper.
Scottish theatre artist Shona Reppe is a featured artist for the Wexner Center and the Arts Education Program. She is a unique solo performer who creates and designs her puppets and props. With the classic fairytale of Cinderella, Reppe transforms it into something fresh and brand new with beautiful puppetry, music and magical moments. Perfect for children of all ages!
“Shona Reppe is one of the most eye catching performers on the children’s stage. Her huge, sparkling eyes twinkle out into theatres and create instant rapport with her audience. She’s almost other-worldly, like a sprite creating magic with her hand-made puppets and intricate sets.” The Herald (10/16/03)
Co-presented with the Wexner Center for the Arts
