Adrienne Kennedy will be Artist in Residence during spring quarter, when the Department of Theatre, College of the Arts, and College of Education celebrate the 50th anniversary of her graduation from OSU by producing Sleep Deprivation Chamber, co-authored with her son, Adam P. Kennedy.

This symposium features leading scholars of African American theatre and the work of Adrienne Kennedy to consider the significance of Kennedy's impressive and boundary breaking work. Her plays are richly layered with autobiography, cultural study, and complex characterization. Her career spans the past four decades, with Obie-award winning productions, distinguished publications, and the inclusion of her plays in major anthologies. Co-sponsored by the Institute for Collaborative Research and Public Humanities and the Department of African and African American Studies.
