Catherine Filloux’s recent plays include: The Beauty Inside (InterAct Theatre Company, Philadelphia & New Georges, NYC 2005); Eyes of the Heart (National Asian American Theatre Co., NYC, 2004); Silence of God (Contemporary American Theater Festival, New Play Commission, 2002 Season); Mary and Myra (CATF, 2000 Season & Todd Mountain Theater Project, NY, 2002); Arthur’s War (Commission from Theatreworks/USA, NYC, 2002); Photographs from S-21, a short play which has toured the world. Her new play Lemkin’s House will be produced at Kamerni 55 Theatre in Sarajevo, in December 04. Filloux's other plays have been produced in New York and around the U.S. Opera: The Floating Box: A Story in Chinatown; (Composer Jason Kao Hwang; Premiere at re-opening of Asia Society 2001; CD New World Records); Commission from Cambodian Living Arts for opera libretto with Cambodian composer Him Sophy to premiere in 2006. Awards: The Kennedy Center Fund for New American Plays' Roger L. Stevens award, Eric Kocher Playwrights Award (National Playwrights Conference, O'Neill Theater Center); Fulbright Senior Specialist (Cambodia & Morocco); James Thurber Playwright-In-Residence; Asian Cultural Council Artist's Residency Grant in Asia; Winner Nausicaa Franco-American Play Contest; Rockefeller MAP Fund (for Floating Box with Hwang); 4-time Heideman Award Finalist, Actors Theatre of Louisville. Oral History Project: A Circle of Grace with Cambodian Women's Group, St. Rita's Refugee Center, Bronx, NY. Filloux's plays are published by Smith & Kraus, Playscripts, Inc. and Vintage. Her articles have been published in Manoa: In the Shadow of Angkor and The Drama Review. She received her M.F.A. in Dramatic Writing from Tisch School of the Arts at NYU and her French Baccalaureate with Honors in Toulon, France. She is a member of New Dramatists.

Her residency at OSU coincides with the world premier of Escuela del Mundo, a new play commissioned by The Ohio State University Office of International Affairs and the Department of Theatre.
