Peter Cutts

Peter Cutts is a solo performer and artistic director of the London company, Offcutts, that specializes in "Poetry in Performance." He began his solo career in the 1980's after studying at the Central School of Speech and Drama. He has performed his one-man shows all over Britain. In 1988 he was commissioned by BBC Schools Radio to write and present programs for a new poetry series. As well as devising new shows and performing throughout the country, he initiated projects with writers, artists, musicians and filmmakers. In 1998 he was inspired to create a new show after an invitation to meet with Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. In May 2003 he began a project to document children's playground rhymes, stories and games on audio CD in different parts of the country. In March 2004 he worked on a family learning project in Hertfordshire recording and dramatizing memories of school life. He recently received a research and development grant from the Arts Council of England to work in Spain and England with the Spanish actress Marta Aledo.
