Alexandru Berceanu

Alexandru Berceanu, from Bucharest, Romania, is a translator and theater director. He has translated and staged Marisol, by Jose Rivera, for its Romanian permier at the Odeon Theatre, and Curse of the Starving Class, by Sam Shepard, for the State Theatre of Arad, among other works. In 2004 he was awarded the Romanian Prize for Best Young Director by the Romanian Ministry of Culture and the Collective Prize for Best Theater Project by the International Association of Theater Critics. His interests include contemporary playwrights and directors, and learning about new lighting design technologies.
