Dave Williams grew up in upstate New York, and has led checkered academic and artistic careers for over 25 years. He has acted and studied in Boston, Dallas, New York, Los Angeles, Williamsport PA, Berwick ME, Shenyang in the People's Republic of China, Taichung in Taiwan, and Newark, Ohio. He has performed in over 50 shows and directed a dozen, and is the author of numerous scholarly articles and reviews. He edited the 1997 anthology The Chinese Other, and his book Misreading the Chinese Character will be published this spring by Peter Lang Publishers, Inc. He lives in Newark with his wife Xiaoxia and his two children Linus and Vivian.
