Two women run a school for girls. A malicious youngster starts an entirely unfounded scandal about them which precipitates tragedy for the women. Later it is discovered that the gossip was pure invention, but by that time irreparable damage has been done.
Lillian Hellman’s classic comes to life on the Bowen stage to examine the issues of false accusations, rumors, and their impact on our lives. This production brings the work of a great female playwright to the stage while commenting on contemporary issues about human sexuality.
