Based on award-winning playwright and performer Carlyle Brown's own travels in West Africa, The Fula from America: An African Journey is an insightful and hilarious drama of homecoming, cultural exploration, and identity. Join Brown as he travels through Senegal, Mali, Gambia, and other places in Africa in the 1980s and finds himself exploring the boundary of the African-American hyphen.
Carlyle Brown is the founder of Carlyle Brown & Company, based in Minneapolis. His plays include The Beggar's Strike, The Negro of Peter the Great, The African Company Presents Richard III, The Little Tommy Parker Celebrated Colored Minstrel Show, Buffalo Hair, and others.
