To complete your application to the Theatre graduate program, you will send some materials to the Graduate Admissions Office and some directly to the Department of Theatre.
PLEASE NOTE: The MFA in Acting program is not accepting new applications or requests for auditions at this time. If you have already been seen at an audition, please continue to submit your materials so that we may complete your application file.Part I: Graduate Admissions Office

Columbus, OH 43218-20041. Graduate Admissions Application and fee ($40 for domestic applicants, $50 for international applicants). Any student who is applying for admission for Winter 2005 or later must complete an application and pay the fee online: http://gradapply.osu.edu/.
NOTE TO MFA ACTING APPLICANTS: You are not required to complete your application and pay the fee until after you have been seen at an audition.2. One official copy of transcripts from all colleges or universities attended.
3. All M.A. and Ph.D. applicants are required to submit an official copy of their Graduate Record Examination scores. (website).
4. International applicants must submit an official copy of your TOEFL scores (website).
Please Note: Funding for our graduate assistantships comes from two sources: department funding and Federal Work Study funds. We ask all graduate students to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form by Ohio State's deadline of March 1 so that you can be considered for both kinds of funding. For more information on the FAFSA, visit http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/. Ohio State's FAFSA School Code is 003090.

1. One official copy of transcripts from all colleges or universities attended.
2. A statement of your scholarly and/or artistic interests and future goals.
3. A resume of your academic and artistic experiences.
4. Three letters of recommendation from professionals who are acquainted with your academic and artistic work. Each recommendation must include:
1) a completed Reference Form (download); and
2) a letter from your recommender written and signed on academic or business letterhead stationery.5. M.A. and Ph.D. applicants only: a sample of your published or unpublished research work.
6. M.F.A. Design applicants only: a design portfolio.
7. M.F.A. Acting applicants only: You are required to be seen at an audition. We participate in the U/RTA auditions (website). We also hold on-site auditions for those who can't attend U/RTAs.
Deadlines
November 30 - International Applicants who wish to be considered for a University Fellowship. (Guidelines for eligibility: website)
January 15 - Domestic Applicants who wish to be considered for a University Fellowship. (Guidelines for eligibility: website)
April 15 - All other applicants, including those interested in graduate assistantships. Most decisions on admissions and assistantships are made during the months of March, April, and May.
